Description BTMS-50 Conditioning Emulsifier AboutBTMS-50 Conditioning Emulsifying Wax is known for its conditioning properties. It is safe and gentle enough for skin care, but it also forms cationic emulsions that can be used to produce creams and lotions with a soft, powdery feel. BTMS-50 is also an excellent detangler that penetrates deeply into skin and hair strands. It can be used in hair care as an emulsifier, conditioner, and frizz reducer as it provides excellent deposition on both hair and skin. Often used in shampoos, conditioners, wash-off systems, creams and lotions.BTMS 50 offers “adjustable” conditioning, allowing formulators to customize their product’s conditioning effects for skin and hair. BTMS-50 forms elegant cationic emulsions, allowing formulators to produce creams and lotions that have a soft, powdery after feel, yet it is safe and gentle enough for skin care. BTMS 50 is also a highly effective hair detangler due to the long behenyl (C22) chain and is preferred by panelists in salon evaluations over industry benchmarks. Usage Reacts with anionic surfactants by forming electro-neutral salts. These are soluble in water but stable solutions and can be obtained by using an excess of an anionic compound. Recommended Usage Rate: 0.5 - 10% Appearance: White Pellet Solubility: Alcohol and hot water Active Ingredient: 48-50%pH (2% solution): 5.0-7.0 Additional Notes These are only suggested usage rates. Each formulation is different and you must test in small batches to find the percentages that work best for you. Always start by mixing in a low percentage, then gradually add until you reach your desired result.
