And, let’s be honest, because they look awesome.It was my friend Michelle (hi Michelle!) who requested a turtle design. As soon as she mentioned it, I had a clear concept of a turtle with a shield knot, which symbolizes protection, over the shell. While creating this design, the important lesson I learned was that turtle was not going to be rushed. What I thought was going to be a simple knot ended up being very complex and took me several iterations and many weeks to get right. The Turtle is a symbol of grounding and safety.All CelticKnotWorks pieces are proudly handcrafted in the USA. This Celtic turtle is my original design, designed from scratch by me.
